@JBigjake Almost every live version surpasses the already incredible garage version!

@pankkke Agreed! Almost GBV live version surpasses the already incredible garage versions!

this song is excellent, but I think the john peel session version is even better than this
-
drums on this song kick ass

The first GBV song I ever heard. Bought the record because it involved Kim Deal and I was a big Pixies fan. The next 1000 or songs I heard by Bob & Tobin and the people I met through the band changed my life. Long live rockathon!!

Eerily gorgeous. The melody of the bridge never fails to give me chills. "And a new party begins!" (A NEW party, as opposed to "a big party today, for the rest of our lives" from "Over the Neptune"?) This is lo-fi hardcore: There is a lot of intentional midrange hum and a steady hiss. I think this is Pollard creating a feeling of "aerodynamics" and also a sly setup for the knockout punch -- GBV's hi-fi debut on Track 2, "Rhine Jive Click." To really hear this one, you need to turn it up to 11!

There was Lennon and there was Dylan, and then there was Pollard
