@atomicsockhop greed. progress my ass progress is when ya tear down and clean up a portion of da hood or a problem eye sore area & make it safe and actually build houses there. it takes years but any complete shithole can be turned into great housing and the only example I can think of is Manhattan when it was a complete shithole in the mid 1800's to early 1900's and scary as fuck to be.

This was my whole childhood right here...I was planning to bring my fiance here so he could see what my childhood was like (besides seeing the fam ;)). It hurts to see what has become of our beloved park...

I use to go there all the time as a kid. Now I live not that far from where Whalom Park use to be. So sad to see it no longer is there and is now condos.

Posted a video response of the condos much farhter along, as well as a sarcastic tour of the park.

i grew up going here when i was a kid, yeah it sucks the park is gone... it really does... but what is there now is a lot less depressing than the sad sad state it was in for the last ten years... drove by it the other day and it looks like a sea of green, the water front has been re-done, and the beach was brought back for residents. It would seem for the first time since 2000 the land is being enjoyed by people again.

thats bullshit- like we really needed more track homes?!? Im glad in the case the housing market crashed right in their face with this- I am 27 years old and I grew up EVERY summer going to whalom park- my mom always got us a season pass and this was my childhood- you wont find the same feeling at a overcrowed gang ridden six flags- i feel bad for the local kids
