  • Signing a written pledge to the electorate to gain their votes, and then reneging on that promise after those votes are irreversibly cast, is a far worse crime than telling a few pre-election fibs about a rival candidate. The electorate had ample time and were best placed to decide which person they wanted as their MP during the General Election.

I hope the good people of Oldham East & Saddleworth reject Mr Watkins and his deceitful kind.

  • @McKenzieCR95 Each Lib Dem prospective parliamentary candidate signed a pledge to the electorate stating that if elected they would 'vote against', 'campaign against' 'resist' against any increase in the cap on tuition fees. Those that were elected did win the election in their constituencies, they are members of parliament and could of voted against so stopping a rise.

  • I realy think that everyone should just Back off and Leave the Lib Dems alone! With the Lib Dems in power we can stop the tories getting there way and add a bit of fairness into the goverment. Also, what over alternitive did Nick Clegg have? If he joined Labour they would still not have a majority and would have to rely on the smaller partys who have rather extreme views. Also The Lib dems have stoped child detention so they do have a positve influence on polices!

  • How many people, the North will be hardest hit, the Tories have a better chance than you.

  • It's funny that. You lot are so quick to notice what the Lib Dems have done wrong - but you all fail to notice that we can't abolish the tuition fees without winning the election and that the new policy is fairer than that of Labour's and than what it would have been with a fully conservative government. Please go a little research and perhaps start reading a newspaper. Thanks.

  • Nice blue tie

  • Dislike, flag as fraud/scam. The Fib Dems are fraudsters. Pledging to the National Union of Students that UNDER NO CONDITION would they support rising tuition fees.

  • Lib Dems: Please hurry up and get a grip before people start turning back to Labour (those that haven't already).

  • @rayrayisgod

Labour did intend to increase it and said so, the difference between Labour and the Lib/Dumbs is the fact that your gallent leader and others in that joke of a party signed petitions to say they would NOT do it but are now up in the air because they don't seem to know what to do, except blame Labour of course.

They will shortly run out of time on that excuse, I wonder what they will do then.

AV a step on the ladder, mmmmmmm, I wonder where to.

    Maybe Clegg could tell us????

  • @intheblood1 They can vote how they want, some will vote it down (kennedy, cambell and farron will definatly do so) and some won't. I don't believe labour wouldnt have increased it, they issued the Browne review in the first place after all. The Lib Dems were the only mainstream party to make things fairer for students, unfortunatly we didnt get a majority and there were 10,000,000 asshats that voted tory. As for PR, AV isn't perfect but anythings better than FPTP. its a step on the ladder.
