CHP Officer Helps Stop Runaway Toyota Prius

A California highway police officer helped slow a runaway Toyota Prius from 94 mph to a safe stop on Monday after the car's accelerator became stuck on a freeway near San Diego, authorities said. (March 9)

@Graciedog Don't tell me I "have ALOT to learn" if you're also going to say that GM's ads aren't BS, and that they don't lie. For starters, just about everything you said is plain false. Porshe invented the Hybrid engine with the Prius coming out before and GM hybrid, there's a complete load of shit in every vehicle ad, GM included, and GM has had scandals in the past with the Volt being a very recent one. Wanna check your facts first?

As Ive said ALL automakers will have recalls.They are designed by humans.My problem with toyota is how they handled this.They kept lying and claiming nothing was wrong then had NUMEROUS recalls which might or might not fix the cars!I had a friend with a new corolla.Hers took off and wouldnt stop when I was with her.Thats when all this started.Thats the LAST time I have riden in a toyota prodect and NEVER will again!Get madat them for lying to you which is what they have done and still are!SAD!!

Toyota has gotten fined over 30 million dollars for their lies.They arent being attacked or singled out.They have had to pay out MILLIONS to families who have died in their cars.Gm has ALWAYS been a leader in technology.Gm came out with the FIRST hybrid.All auto makers will have recalls.Its how they handle them.I dont know how Gm's ads are bs but whatever.You like giving your money to liars. Toyota doesn't lie anymore that any other big company, GM included. I never said Toyota was saying the truth and I don't get my information from Toyota, I get it from the IIHS. Don't assume GM is any better. Their ads are just as bullshit as Ford's, Chrysler's, and Toyota's. As for Toyota "following", that's not always true. The first crossover, first IIHS 5* full-sized pick-up, the first mass-produced hybrid are all Toyota. If you're so smart you wouldn't think GM's a saint.

When it comes down to it its all about how a company would handle something like this.The right or wrong way.Gm has a recall on the volt for the batteries catching fire.They worked with the ntsb and have repaired the problem.They gave buyers a choice of getting their money back or getting into a different car if they didnt feel safe.Toyota didnt do this at all!If you like being lied to buy their junk!You arent spiting everyone that disagrees with you your putting yourself in danger!THINK folks!

Those claiming toyota is not in the wrong here.LISTEN to the tape!Before this happened he got a recall notice 2 weeks before and took it to be fixed and they told him his car wasnt a part of the recall! If nothing is wrong why did toyota try and try to fix it?They dont just let people making things up come in and come out with world wide recall notices and supposed fixes!They LIED to EVERYONE.They lied to the people who gavce them money and CONTINUE to give them money!I wont pay to be lied 2!THX

They are so safe they have recalls and not for simple things like power window regulators but steering issues! I wouldnt own another ford or a dadge PERIOD! Gm is the best auto maker out there and are now back on top. toyota just follows they dont lead. The problem is now you cant stop the junk or trust it! You give your moneyu to liars if you want. some of us are SMARTER!
