This week Mark Wallace talks about dynamic range a topic a lot of the viewers have asked about. Dynamic range describes the ratio between the maximum and minimum measurable light intensities. Mark also talks about sensor size and why its important.

@Maaniic It couldn't have anything to do with the Sony sensor (used in the D7000/5100, as well as the Pentax K-5 and Sonys) being a whole lot newer technology, could it? ;-) A better comparison for medium format would be the more recent 'Blads and Phase One/Leaf backs using the newer Dalsa-sourced sensors (as opposed to the older Kodaks).

I know because I think I heard that Mark didn't mention that in the movie. He suggested only for D3X/D3S/D3 etc. but the D700 is also a full frame guy!! That's what I meant! Good Luck!

@imaginemylove22 the D700 has almost the same sensor as the D3 D3s and D3x. it's still the same size - full frame or a crop factor of 1.0

By the way, Nikon D700 also have very nice sensor with Crop Factor 1.0x. Is it the same size as those on Nikon D3s and Nikon D3x because you mentioned that only the two of them got a full-size sensor in this video.
