I NEVER get tired of watching this rendition of this classic Sondhien gem! These three broads give it what it was meant to have,Guts, balls and what he had in mind when he wrote it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,FUN!

I so want to sing this song haha!!! xx

I really am not a fan of Stephen Sondheim so how is it that he wrote this song which is one of my favourite musical songs ever. This is one of my favourite versions too.
Double whammy for me.

The "fag" lyric changing has less to do with being offensive and more to do with the fact that it makes the show seem dated. Sondheim himself said this.
It makes sense. Back then, it didn't carry the same meaning. The girls *did* mean 'if he happened to be gay' by fag; it wasn't meant to be offensive. Nowadays, when people hear it they stop and think about it, which takes away from the song. They might misinterpret the girls as homophobic, which they're not. They're annoyed with Bobby.

@ziggy41 I watched (and listened to) this clip repeatedly, and singer and accompaniment matcher perfectly. I think you may have issues with your computer, Ziggy! Enjoy! - James Allen Brewer, Producer, "Simply Sondheim"

@ziggy41 Unfortunately, when a video clip plays on Youtube (or pretty much any site) for an extended period of time, the soundtrack and the visual image start to fall out of synchronization, making it sound as if the accompaniment and the voices don't match the visual images of the performers. As you can imagine, after almost 70,000 viewings, the probability of this video having that problem is considerable. I need to reload all of these video. Thanks for watching - JB, producer Simply Sondheim

you son of a bitch was originally written like this...
DO they still say the word fag in this song? It seems that lyric was changed some time ago....There is the "drag" rhyme...or the "go away/happened to be gay" thing....

As much as was possible, we used the original lyrics to the songs (this was indeed a retropective). The San Francisco gay community was well represented in the cast, and none of them were offended. I think sometimes we (artists) tend to be a bit too P.C. - JB, Producer of "Simply Sondheim"
