  • @halleygoswami

Thank you very much for shedding light on the intricacies of this kind of hindustani sangeet , and for clarifying .

  • @KL3RIC The song is about Narrotam Das Thakur, a saint of the Gaudiya Vaishnava lineage, who learned DRUPAD (very complicated classical hindustani vocal form) as depicted in the end of this clip, for his public kirtan performances.

  • This is Bengali Padyavali 'Lila' kirtan, a distinctly bengal-originated form...that is influenced by Hindustani North Indian classical...i would call this semi-classical.

  • @ChristianAMR hi christian . but in my ears it sounded more like hindustani classical than carnatic . there are dozens of songs that goes with the words 'barase badariya ' specially in raag megha , malhar etc .

but like you , im happy to see bengal's kirtan up in youtube . jai

  • Even for a non bengali like me, it is very attractive because it is acted out in a very lively way.Felt like going back to the era of Mahaprabhu!!! All glories to Narotam Das and his bhajans......

  • At the end it seems like they are imitating some kind of carnatic music ; very interesting ...

  • I LIKE IT VERY MUCH

  • so beautiful.. love seeing it acted it out here and there...
