I SHAVED MY HEAD when I was a teen, the back and I pierced my ears 5 times when it was only prudent to have one or two, I would never run away and I wasn't bad, I was creative and liked to express my artistic and creative ways through self expression. Jane gains no respect from me throwing people in a group based on how they look. how boring if we all looked the same, or like her! LOL

Jane has no clue when it comes to children and how they act and what they do. My goodness, throwing children with piercings and tattoos into the "runaway" group is so wrong. She needs to take a ride to where most of these runaways are and listen to what they have to say to get a better idea of why children runaway. Some runaway over a simple "bad haircut" like with the young boy in Florida over the weekend. It doesn't take much for a child to take off.

I completely agree with you Sierra. Kids can be rebellious without belonging to a subculture that values piercings and tattoos. Also kids of well-to-do and educated parents can be subjected to verbal, physical and mental abuse.
There was a case recently of a home schooled mormon (?) girl who had run off on her bike and left her 4H sweatshirt (which she supposedly loved to wear) at home. Her parents and the media were convinced it was an abduction....

Children will runaway if a parent ground them, it's as simple as that. Makes no difference if the family is rich or poor, when children don't like the punishment or whatever, they just take off. It doesn't take much.

I will always disagree with Jane and her expert panel when they say stuff like they do on her show or any of the other shows. Sometimes I wonder if they look back and say: "did I really say that?"
