Who Killed Chrysler?
In 1992 then Chairman Lee Iacocca was focused on product quality and safety but in early 1993 Robert J. Eaton was appointed by Lee Iacocca as his successor where Eaton revised upper and middle management focus throughout Chrysler.
The new priority was NOT the long term viability of Chrysler or Chrysler's future, vehicle quality or safety but the short term focus defined in Project Blitz. Instead under Robert J. Eaton Chrysler was doing every thing possible to cut corners on quality, safety and coverage of valid warranty claims to inflate profits and make Chrysler look as profitable as possible.
Wall Street's Goldman Sachs was hired in 1995 under Project Blitz to assist with the future sale of Chrysler, while simultaneously and surreptiously defining how to transfer MILLIONS to upper management including Eaton which received 200 million in cash and options.
The priority of real world quality and safety was not a part of Project Blitz and in fact through numerous serious widepsread safety defects that to this day Chrysler has never taken responsibility for lives were endangered to save as little as 24 cents per component per millions of vehicles sold. Earlier that year Henry Paulsen became CEO of Goldman Sachs. In 2006 Paulsen became Secretary of the US Treasury under Bush. Robert J. Eaton now sits on the board of Chevron.
Robert J. Eaton along with Daimler's Jurgen Schrempp lied to the pubic, investors and employees stating it was a merger of equals which was later admitted to be a complete takeover by Daimler in 1998, and an estimated nearly 40 billion in cash was transfered to bank accounts at the stroke of the return key. Chrysler was dumped on Cerberus in 2007 for practically nothing after billions of dollars Daimler later gave to Cerberus then declared and giving up it's 19.1 percent stake. In June 2009 Chrysler was then given away to Fiat for free, with expenses being funded by the Moneychangers of Obama's Auto Task Force helping to further bankrupt the country.
Daimler was the company that Eaton needed to buy his sinking ship and by the time all of the cutting corners on quality and safety to inflate profits came back to haunt the company Eaton would be gone. Eaton officially left Chrysler in 2000 where he oversaw the transition to Daimler according to his plan.
Unfortunately even under new owners Chrysler still refuses to take responsibility for past widespread serious safety defects and things haven't really seemed to "actually" change much although the magic of Chrysler's PR and Marketing would have you believe different.

Well you sound like an intelligent person. If someone wants to own or likes Dodge / Chrysler that's cool and it's all good.
However, theres unfortunately a lot of Dodge, Chrysler fans that for some reason act completely mindless and insane. It's like arguing with the mentally handicapped so I just did myself a favor by disabling comments.
They deny facts, I've had them disrespect victims that have been killed, blaming them for defects that weren't their fault I could go on forever.

there's one thing I noticed about all of the Chrysler Products shown in your videos: they are ALL from the post 1998 Era!

@digitalrailroader the goal was to show that the same problems continue. If I show older Chrysler's (pre 1998) then Chrysler nutswingers come in and say see see, those are all old (even if the footage was from newer or new at the time vehicles), there is still ample footage of 1998 and before Chrysler's. I can have enough of that defect and problem footage, fires, everything you can imagine to have people watch all day.

@dodgechryslersucks The Neon Engine Head Gasket issue was never a problem in my Plymouth Breeze, because it was built as a 1998 model in December of 1997. however, I was Lied TO MY FACE by my Dealer (which is Closed now) for the Ignition Interlock Recall. I had told them POINT BLANK the Interlock was Inoperative, and as per the Recall, they were SUPPOSED to replace the shifter. they didn't, and I can push my car without the keys in it. I HATE Being lied to!

@digitalrailroader ah, don't get me started on Corporate's policy instructing and pressuring dealers to lie to help them save money. Another Robert J. Eaton (pre-Daimler) way to conduct business (yes it was continued by Daimler) but started before Daimler. I couldn't even begin to tell you the things that dealers tried to tell me and lie about and that thousands of customers have told me in order to not have to cover valid claims. Yeah it sucks being lied to!

Yeah, the "merger" ruined my career with Chrysler. 12 years. Poof. I eventually resigned due to the dumbness of the business model and the ratio of managers to employees. Eventually they had managers in the field managing 4 to 5 guys with the managers doing virtually NOTHING. I quit and 6 month later they offered "packages". Do you think I'm pissed?
t5998mc 1 year ago
Wow that sucks, sorry to hear that!
Yeah that's a big problem with corporations nowadays, too much worthless management (usually mostly people who know people who get people these positions, NOT by performance) doing nothing and getting paid big bucks.
In most cases these "Managers" don't even know anything compared to the people working in the field (I've been there myself).
Then when hard times come the people actually doing the work in the field get let go. Makes me sick.
