Edit: The watermelon in this video is not the one Flowtoys makes and sells. This is a modified flowlight that my friends Modified for me and does not look like the Flowtoys Watermelon. My Watermelon = Green, Pink, Red. Flowtoys Watermelon = Light pink, Green, Light Pink.

Me spinning my custom flowlights.
My friends have been making custom flowlights for me and our group of spinners. My custom series is the "fruit series." So far I have green apples + oranges, and then these two watermelons. There will be more later.

  • where did you get this

  • @TaRooProductions

It's custom made for me. I bought stock flowlights, then LEDs from various sources, then had my friend open the flowlight- desolder stock LEDs and solder my picked LEDs. I wanted a watermelon flowlight and at the time Flowtoys hadn't released theirs so I had my own made. As far as I know it's the first watermelon flowlight created.

  • I just bought some watermelon flowtoys a while back and I wish they had red in them like yours do! I think I might replace my pink led with a purple one like in the spirits. Would all the light modes work correctly still if I soldered in a new led?

  • @altron64 As long as the LEDs are Solid color and not color changing you will have no problems in any mode. All the Flowtoys lights are solid. Spirit has some spectacular colors in it. You run into problems when you use ribbon or tri/slowfade type LEDs since some modes are not constant you can't keep those LEDs going to transition and hold. Some of the "tracer" type LEDs have interesting effects when not on a solid mode in a flowlight. My friends have made a ton of mods now. It's awesome.

  • @permagrillz I finished my watermelon about 6 months ago. about a month after that I showed some pics to FT since I knew we were both working on Watermelon. At that time Prisna told me they finalized their color choices and then their Dan Watermelons were in the making. So we finished around the same time but since I only had to make two I finished a few months before them. lol ~{= I love spinning my and FT watermelon together on Bling mode. They work well on that. Confusion happens no worries.

  • @VWLPT I was confused because Flowtoys released a similar color, if I'm not mistaken, around a similar time. It was an honest mistake on my part.

  • @s1ack3rr2 You're close. The Flowtoys watermelon has pink, green, pink (very light pinks). The pinks are very similar if not the same. They remind me of one of the pinks from Love. My custom watermelon has three colors: pink, red, green. The red is a low level red so it gives off a kind of 'sweet red pink' if you pay attention to the flowlight in 'Bling' mode you can see the red. I wanted a low level red so it wouldn't over power the pink. I wanted that pink-pink/red watermelon look.

  • you can tell they're custom made because the watermelon ones have 3 colors- 2 pink 1 green. these flowlights have 2 colors- 1 pink and 1 green

  • @permagrillz

he's claiming they're custom builds because they're custom builds, not really sure what's so hard to understand :/
