Highlights from Tony Rice's career at Notre Dame (1987-89). The music is Nappy Roots' "Awnaw" (Remix). Thanks to Kylehunter4200 for turning me on to the track.
yeah but Rice also had one of the best Defenses to ever play at ND. Alot of Quinn's losses were not because of his poor play but because the d couldnt get off the field
One thing to remember though is that Faust could actually recruit. I mean, honestly, the seniors on the 1988 team that made a difference were all Faust recruits, with a mix or great freshman and sophomore classes put together by Lou. Quinn and Co. had to labor under Ty whose commitment to golf was more prominent than his commitment to improving the team that was providing him with a chance to make a statement about his ability to do well in a truly difficult environment.
I would take Tony Rice over Brady Quinn on any given day of the week. Rice went 24-1 as a starter in his final 2 years, won a national championship, won both bowl games, and led Notre Dame to a school record 23 game win streak. Meanwhile Quinn went 19-6, lost both bowl games, and couldn't led his team to a win over a quality ranked team. Quinn might have been the better passer and have all of the school passing records; but Rice had the leadership and skill of a champion.

We went undefeated twice as a high school QB at Woodruff... him and Willie Varner are our claims to fame.
