UPDATE 8/1/11: As of now(and for some time now), this root method will no longer work. The newest version of Froyo 2.3 is NOT rootable at the moment. As soon as a new root method becomes available, I will create another video showing you how! Thanks for your understanding and support :)

This is a complete step-by-step guide to rooting your HTC EVO 4G. Very simple and easy to following, using the unrevoked method. NO data loss, very safe, will not brick your phone. Works on Froyo 2.2, does not require the use of any custom ROMs, use your OEM Sprint ROM if you want. This root was done on an EVO with 2.2 already installed, ZERO problems.

  • @flameofjehova Remove the battery for 5 seconds lift the memory stick, reinstall everything and try it again. Same thing happened to me.

  • Turn off your anti-virus software on the EVO before doing this.
