@anb740 thats cool this is the northbound I was on the southbound from DC to La however we never went all the way to LA on the transcon that part got shot down so I got off in New Orleans where the trip finally terminated and I went home for a week and caught it again out in California they deadheaded the train from New Orleans to California with just crew I than went on Amtrak to Oakland and got the bus to Napa where I caught it for a trip to LA via the Napa Valley

Very nice clip. I only saw this train once when it first premiered in the late 80's (it was stationary on The Bay Line down in Panama City Beach, Florida. The original company was based there). I understand the current owner of the train has it mothballed somewhere in the Midwest. I do hope it will come back, though it probably will not happen unless the economy recovers.

Attempts to bring the train back in 2011 have failed, and the cars are going to be sold or possibly even scrapped. Chalk up another casualty of the Great Recession.

No. It went to Savannah where it will be interchanged onto CSX for the rest of the trip to D.C.

@anb740 was this the reverse run I made a mistake than I was on the southbound run not the one to DC I went from Dc to NOLA

This was the northbound headed to DC. (actually the last northbound ever) The final southbound return trip after this was actually the DC to L.A. transcon with a brief layover in NOLA. That also marked the last time I'd ever see the train again.
