@TheRecoveringZombie Maybe it helps that I don't live in the USA. ;-)

@panthera50 Really? I've had some atheists reject and argue with me about antinatalism. The most I've been able to get them to do is say "Yes, suffering exists but...." and then go on to deny the inevitability (suffering) of existence.

@TheRecoveringZombie If you discuss this with someone who has NO beliefs (christian or otherwise), they look at you and say "yes, of course that's true", without even blinking an eye is my experience here. :-)
So much for indoctrination: it helps if you are not, apparantly. ;-)

@boobootoob Oh absolutely! It's more of a mental hang-up we ex-cultists have. Yes, suffering is real so therefore true. Sentient life suffers, also real and therefore true. And the only sure fire way to prevent it, is to prevent sentient creatures coming into existence. This is demonstrable. This is why pessimism makes more sense than optimism.
People deny my pain all the time. I'm used to it. That's ok, it just makes me that much more ornerier. ;)

@TheRecoveringZombie well in this context we say "truth" about some very basic things, like suffering, and that it's not relative, etc. So we are not saying, this entire embodiment of ideas is "the truth" and you should walk in the way of this truth etc. So it's different enough :) Not only is life an imposition on a child, but religion is a major one, and a strict religion for a child is exactly like a cult. There are also family dynamics which vary family to family. So some can deny your pain.

@boobootoob Thank you, booboo. I just want to people to understand what is going on with her. She's in a process. I mean, you and I, and even Gary, have gone through this process, i.e. arriving at truth. See, even me saying "arriving at truth" makes me cringe. The cult fucked us up. I've had to struggle and fight and claw my way to where I am now starting from when I was a kid. Heh, I was an antinatalist before I knew there was such a thing. The cult made me appreciate true horror.

@TheRecoveringZombie I understand. As for me personally, I am not offended with anything that's true. I don't think your comments are off base at all.
