The health risks associated with working in a foundry include exposure to silica, metal fumes, toxic gases, noise and heat. Administrative and engineering controls reduce or eliminate the hazards found in typical metal melting and casting processes. Check out the 1998 NIOSH video, Caution: Foundry at Work, now on YouTube in both English and Spanish language versions. This clip is from the 1980 film, OSHA. That entire film is available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1N48Z5HerA .
