Both Spinners & Jean Carne have great versions of this song. Classics in their best!! I wish these were the kind of songs the radio stations would play. There are very few artists today that has the voice Ms Carne, Aretha, Gladys, Phyllis, Anita can come close to. I will keep playing my CD's to continue to listen & keep alive their great music.

thanks for posting this...one of my old cassette tape favourites that never got bought and i know its been probably 20 years at least since i had the pleasure of listening to it again. Jean Carne is one of the best female singers...dont let it go to your head....was that all it was...luv em all!!!

I had no idea Jean Carne had a whistle register vocally. And of course Jean must have been with a record label that didn't promote her the way they should have. I'm first to admit i slept on Jean Carne because so many soul singers were out at the time. I have a few interviews Jean did saved to my channel i love her positive attitude!
