I know you wrote the above a year ago, but another thumbs up to you for the comment. I think he's severely underrated... not to mention, he's kind've fucked up in real life, and fucked up people tend to make the best art. Not negating anyone's opinion, but he's been one of the people I followed since Angel Heart... didn't care for the movie, but I really enjoyed watching Rourke work.

I came across this movie by accident, I really didn't think much of Mickey Rourke as an actor, but this part was tailor-made for him. I laughed till I cried.

Didn't think much of Rourke?
Mickey is one of the most ultimate badass actors ever. Watch Sin City, he plays Marv and work his movie career backwards. You should have a better appreciation of him after that.
