The Transylvanian Wildlife Project team discovered two illegal poachers traps on a field trip yesterday. They were situated on a track regularly used by wild boar. The first was a large wire loop snare, and the second a gin style trap large enough to trap a bear. Luckily Barni saw the trap before one of the team members stood on it. Not only is trapping illegal but you can only imagine the terrible suffering these traps cause to animals. Poachers rarely check traps daily so the suffering can go on for some time before the animal is discovered and then brutally killed. The second trap was hard wired to a tree but we did manage to successfully remove it. Two less threats to wildlife!

@pantherkoch4 - You obviously didn't watch part 3? This trap was so well anchored it took us the best part of an hour to break through all the fine wires of the thick cable that anchored it to a tree. Unfortunately we didn't have a hacksaw with us to remove it more quickly, but rest assured we were not going anywhere before we removed that trap, to carry out of the forest to be destroyed.

This video is an obvious fake. The trap is not bedded, the trap is not anchored and any animal that traveled that path would step over this trap even if it was covered. This trap has not been manufactured in many years and are now collectors items. Nice try.
