Virtualbox: Age of Empires II and Galactic Battlegrounds

Just testing some 2D strategy games on guest Windows 2000.

Virtualbox works very fine with 2D games, but if you wanna play 3D games then applications like Wine or another virtualization software (VMWare) is the way to go.

It works with WINE, it's just a bit slow.

There is a DIB engine that is not part of the official dev. tree that speeds up 2D performance, but you have to compile WINE for yourself or download a pre-compiled binary pack. It's a bit buggy at this time.

@ChanSSJ4 yes u can, and i have a patch to play it on native resolution.. i play it on 1920 x 1080!! anyway it is better in winxp, but palyble with vbox fullscreen..
