Music scored, performed and programmed by Kostis Tsioulakis and friends from the University of Bristol. This is a part of a "library-music" project carried out on 2009 during Kostis's masters in Composition for Film and TV at the University of Bristol. The original title of the assessment was "after dark" and it was supposed to give the notion sexy-dark atmosphere in an mixed mood of oriental and Mediterranean aroma. The orchestration is: Piano, Cajon (traditional spanish percussion), Castanets, Arabic wooden flute, String Quintet and electronic rhythm elements.
The initial idea was to make something "Pink Martini" -ish. Nevertheless it went more in to the tango feeling borrowing elements from the eastern tradition (especially the wooden flute melodies and improvisation). A few jazz chords were added and I assume the result would be better with an accordion (especially live played...)
The pictures are "borrowed" through the internet, after careful search (a HUGE thanks to the artists) and hopefully the fulfil their commission to make the sounds more coherent and enjoyable.
