Shure's Super55 microphone is an absolute cracker. It's older brother (55SH Series II) has always looked nice nice, but this one sounds great!
Round 1 of our $2010 Footy Tipping season, and the prize for the best tipper this week is a Shure Super 55 (you must be a current Factory Sound customer or supplier to enter).
For the record, we actually used Super55 to record every instrument here, except the kick drum... Beta52 is what we stuck inside the old Pearl kick. We plugged straight in to an MBox2.
Also for the record, our greatest collective talent is making sure we've got the best stock of pro audio gear in the country. Our customers are the ones who should really be on the stage! But we love to keep ourselves amused when the doors shut for the night...
Cheers, and thanks for watching.

  • Amazing promo!

  • @Semionfest Cheers!

  • i got it, i love it!

  • @mrbbqml mmm, good huh?!

They actually sound as good / better than they look. Glad you like

  • i've tried this mic in a studio last time and it gave me a really low output, comparing to an sm58, it's like it's working with a -30dB pads on

    why is that?

is it supposed to work that way or it just my own problem?

  • @jerryshorty No, sounds like a problem there...

These mics have got good output compared with SM58. We've had heaps in and out of stock, and no similar stories.

  • i wana know a couple things. it does sound great, does it need phantom power? if so, is that enough for it to go straight into an interface or does it still need a preamp? if it needs a preamp and one is being used in this promo, which is it? thanks.

  • is a condenser microphone????

  • @jerryshorty I was told by Shure that Dynamic mics have low output. They told me to buy a Cloud Lifter for it to increase its output level. I had the same issue.

  • Silly question!? What screw thread does it have? You know to attach to the mic stand, cos I want an upright chrome stand to go with it. Is the 55sh the same?

  • Does anyone know the name of the song?

  • srry maybe its a stupid question, but can you record on your pc with this?

  • is this good for guitar, bass, and drums recording?

  • im sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but where does the cable go in this microphone?
