  • This version of Titanic beats the one with Dicaprio all to pieces. The dialogue is far better. The characters are more interesting. The latest Titanic even stole a line spoken by Clifton Webb in this one. About how the British call people to dinner. This is just a better overall movie experience. When they used to make great movies.

  • I love the way the plot refers to the "maiden" voyage of the Titanic, as if there was a need to specify.

  • @AdArmand Good call. It amuses me that certain people on here feel the need to tell people which film is better (in their opinion). As you said, they all have merit in one way or another. Besides, we could all be watching something Really bad like 'The Adventures of Pluto Nash' lol. XD

  • @mikelheron20 Yes maiden voyage is sweet and realistic. This was the first trip of the Titanic and last trip unfortunately.

  • Why must ONE version of the Titanic story be regarded amongst all? Don't they all have merit in some way or another? We are just lucky that filmmakers have used this event so many times, as it never ceases to be fascinating.

  • Cameron made a version of a romance but the Titanic is not about a romance at all!it is about the hope of going at NY like i said.ROmance is exaggerated on his version....And a waste of money!

  • @49bobbyk Yes i fully agree. The newer sucks because it is centered on Leo di caprio and Kate winslet and their romance!!and they forget the third class.ThE Titanic story is not about Kate and Leo but it is about people on a boat going to NY and spending a good time with the hope to live better days, the rich and the poor also.

  • Its interesting to watch the scene between BS and RW if he is to believed about their four year relationship. She in her late 40's and him in his early 20's. If so, way to go Barbara.

  • @MDSDKSMDBDNDGD The Titanic of 1996 is way better! You're right!there is so much romance!

  • @49bobbyk i disagree. I think it's all a matter of taste. I am a huge fan of the newer one only because it is such an epic romance. I'll agree that there is better dialogue in this one, but I think (being a hopeless romantic) I prefer the storyline of the later one
