  • Excellent, excellent, video clip on Reformed Theology that IS representative of "Biblical Christianity". Glory to GOD through our Lord & Saviour Yeshua HaMashiach.

    For His Glory!!!

  • @gregormann7 Well on what time frame do you think life has existed? If it has existed for billions of years as all of geology, palaeontology, astrophysics suggest the process gets very plausible indeed.

  • @davidatheist As I was taught in 10th grade biology class, 100 years ago! ha. When you actually try to think this through, as something which actually happened in reality, it becomes exeedingly difficult to imagine. It's pretty easy to offer vague generalities, but the actual details, that's something else. Nat Sel does in fact occur. But how far it explains life itself is where we differ immensely.

  • @gregormann7 Within the species there will be random genetic mutations however wether those mutations are passed onto the next generation will depend on whether the mutations have given the individual an advantage over other members of its species. Thus the mutations are random but the process is constantly favouring mutations that provide an advantage therefore the process is not random.

  • @davidatheist Which implies that you do? Explain how you understand 'the process of evolution' to be a non-random process, which is advanced by 'random mutations' over time. How can an unguided, blind, unconscious process be non-random in its nature? What does that mean?

Random: "having no definite aim or purpose."

  • @gregormann7 The fact that you call the process of evolution random shows you dont understand the concept. The process is not random the mutations are random there is a huge difference.

  • @davidatheist We are rapidly approaching a day when no one will continue to defend the absurd idea that random processes produced the complex, specific information--coding--of DNA. It is depressing to find so many people clinging to this outmoded, 19th century concept. Processes now understood to be at work in the 'selection'/re-programming of genes--between SINGLE generations--boggles the mind. You seriously need to look into this. It will radically alter your thinking.

  • @davidatheist 2) I don't get your determination to exploit such weak inferrences, which I suspect you found in a text hostile to theology. Contrived 'defects' hardly make the case against a Creator. Your examples strike me as mere non-sequiturs! As I recall, the world is fallen, awaiting redemption. I doubt the world to come will manifest any such weaknesses, not that I agree that you've listed design flaws. I think you are throwing bombs from the sidelines.

  • @davidatheist 1) Wow, I am at a loss. YOU could DESIGN a better UNIVERSE than this one? Do you actually have ANY idea of the complexity of the human body in ALL its systems, let alone ALL aspects of reality involved in a full-blown definition of the universe, some of which have only recently been postulated (dark matter, e.g.)? Come on, jack, get serious with me. That was way glib.

  • @gregormann7 It should be at least as good as I could design. And from a macroscopic point of view there are many things wrong with the human body to take one example. I will give you a short list. Our backs are not optimised for a vertical orientation, our head size causes complications at birth, our eyesight commonly needs correcting, and the appendix and gall bladder cause problems.
