  • I am glad he is doing a Zevon song. But it seems he took the feeling out of this song. I like the version Jill did on the Enjoy Every Sandwich cd better.

  • @Nazman06 sorry, but in my eyes, ANY song the "Jax" does is the best version of it. Die-hard fan here.

  • @essbeep I like him too. I just didn't think he did this song justice. He did it too fast and lost the feeling of it.

  • @Nazman06 i disagree. seeing it live, it was so tender and beautiful, even haunting. nothing beats JB in my book :)

  • Great video, saw him night before last in Ashevile and he played this song, lamenting he recently lost 2 friends unexpectedly/accidental deaths.

  • @TheHamlin101 Yes, he lost several friends recently and has been working long on these two tours and all the benefits in between plus the MSG concerts! Then he's going on to Japan with Cheryl Crowe in the Spring...

  • the Pretender sings the Offender's music. JB and Warren may have been opposite in some ways, but both were great friends and are amazing musicians.

  • Thanks so much for this bit of heaven. I just returned to CA from three of these shows and he did this at all three. Durham and Asheville NC were unbelievable, he was in great voice. Columbus GA was a little rougher but still - well - heaven. Looking Into You, Something Fine... OMG...

  • @Nazman06 I think that Jackson took a different approach to imply a different meaning. I think Jackson's version is serious and sad- Zevon's style was somewhat making a joke of it I think. Browne is probably thinking of a lost friend here- there are quite a few of his songs about people he's known that have died. In any case, the great thing about music is that there are many different musicians and that they are allowed to cover eachother's work so that everyone can find a version they like.

  • @4WingedBeatlez So true!!

  • @essbeep Agree to Nazman, he is singing ths song to Warren, to remember a good friend he will never forget, so it was so tender and beautiful.

  • @essbeep Another Jackson die hard fan here...thumb up!!!!

  • i know, we can t have what we want, but wz is missed. for so many reasons. the customers need more than what we have.

  • the great thing about music is the variety There are different musicians who write differnet songs and each one performs it in their own unique way. there's a version for everyone. Kudos to Zevon for writing this masterpiece, and kudos to Browne for performing it his own way and not just copying Warren like karaoke or something. Regardless of whose version you prefer, both Warren and Jackson are great musicians and do wonderful, but very different versions of this song.

  • @Nazman06 see above

  • @essbeep well i'm a die hard to but he is rite about this one, Jax has helped me thru many heart ache like when Laura White went to UCLA. I played , "your brite baby blues", over and over and cried my eyes out till healing set in.
