I find only one flaw in Lars' argument. Now we can burn CD's and what have you and it sounds just like the original recordings as well. I could by all of their music and burn it on to blank CD's and hand it out like candy and he couldn't stop me! Not that I don't respect his point of view I am a musician of over 30 years but times change and we can't stop it. He had every right not to want his music out there for free. I understand that. Throwing a fit like he did didn't help his cause.

@nick0is0ace Who gives a fuck about british independent labels? Only you and some other unimportant nerds i believe.

@MattB0m Excellent! Naturally I cant tell you when I'll be round for "legal reasons" but you'll know it when it happens, right?

@ImperiousKnight Sure thing bub! XD

@MattB0m Do you think you could email your address to me? I'm really interested in sneaking into your house in the dead of night & taking all of your valuable possessions. Kind of a "free exchange of content" type of thing.

This is a great debate. Both Lars and Chuck have great points.

I find it ironic that Lars had (and still has) such a problem with this when Metallica bounced Dave Mustaine from Metallica before Kill 'Em All came out, yet left his name off the record entirely and only gave him songwriting credit after being sued. Not to mention they used his ideas for several albums afterward.

Lars actually had some great points that day, it was a futuristic talk from us 2 and futuristic questions from Charlie Rose

Chuck D had a very well informed and open-minded approach to free file sharing and the entertainment industry, and this was over 10 years ago.
It is unfortunate that in all that time, government and big business have stubbornly and blindly pursued their work to outlaw the free exchange of such content.

Chuck and Lars basically toured the talk circuit discussing this issue and every time Lars got beat and people found out how stupid he actually is.
Chuck D is the man
