Rachel Stevens performs her cover version on BBC's Top of the Pops. Actually, I'm not even sure f its TOTP. It seems like some disco revival show. I have no idea.

Enjoy the "lightning" effects!

Oh, I guess its ITV's Discomania. Same thing really.

  • They almost always lip sync with headsets because the microphone picks up the singer's breaths between words. If you can't hear the breaths, you know that it's lip synced.

  • This is actually the "Third" Version. The first one was done by Johnnie Taylor who had other hit records like "Who's Making Love", and "Disco Lady" The Second Version was done by Aimee Wright in the 1970's, and was also featured in "54" about the notorious nightclub.

  • @jorlando2001 i don't care about rachel stevens but mic picks up breaths of all the baloney

  • This has nothing to do with music. It's just vanity, posing, over-production & cynical marketing. I remember when women COULD sing & they didn't try too hard to look cute & sexy.

  • The MOST Feminine Female on the Planet. i just LOVE this woman. Perfect in every way

  • 2D's ex.

  • @dmd856 It's not an issue of when to breathe, but rather that with a headset microphone you can't get your mouth away from the mic when you do breathe, so there is no way to avoid recording your breaths at some point during the song. Add to that the fact that she is dancing, and so working even harder, and her breathing should be even more pronounced.

  • @jorlando2001 not to say this performance wasn't mimed. but a good performer knows when, and how to breathe when they sing. so you don't notice breath in take... so your judgement call isn't accurate.

  • @MisterChirp Thanks, I found it and it was cheap! Not even two pounds.

  • @terrycharnley She did. There was an album released in conjunction with this Discomania TV special and it appears on there. You can find the album pretty cheap on ebay.

  • Cheryl Cole learned absolutely nothing from this era.
