Taliban spokesman Sayed Rahmatullah Hashemi went to America in early 2001. He went there for negotiations on different issues. National public radio (NPR) of America interviewed him during his stay there. He was asked many burning questions like

1.Why Taliban are against education of women?
2.Why Taliban destroyed the statues of Buddha?
3.Why Taliban do not allow women to go on jobs?
4.Why Taliban expelled BBC reporter from Afghanistan?
5.How Taliban eradicated the poppy cultivation?
6.Why Taliban do not allow UN aid workers to do help in Afghanistan?
7.Why Taliban are protecting Osama Bin Laden?

In this interview, general public also questioned the Taliban spokesman through telephone. A must listen for everybody to get the view point of Taliban by Taliban.

  • I am buddhism believe., I dont mind at all destory this statue of budha i would do the same things to save people from straving in buddha teaching he say we dont need to attach the things that isn't important so therefor the statue is important but when it come to childeren straving i will put foods on childeren who are straving first rather then fixing the buddha statue. im not upset at all even i am a buddhism.

  • @tig3rkrus

Exactly. Do Buddhists believe repairing a statue is more valuable than the lives of 1,000's of children? This buddhist guy is just an emotional wreck. He says "the heritage of your children", well those CHILDREN would much rather EAT and LIVE than see a FUCKING STATUE!

  • i am a muslim and i appreciate the comments of buddishst bros

but still they should have took the money n left statues alone

  • @CountChocula101 Not the statue that we're worship is the knowledge of buddha the statue is a memory of his teaching that live on daily reminder. As far as buddha concern, helping people is first befor any material like his statue is also a parts of material. If it come between a childern starving to death the money to rebuild statue doesn't help to keep his knowledge alive only if you intention is to help childeren first and help the poor. Western Society understand very little.

  • @tig3rkrus

That's exactly what I was thinking when I heard this. I mean, really, what kind of Buddhist would rather spend money to repair some useless statues rather than feeding starving children? I am pretty sure the Buddha would rather have that money go to feeding the children of Afghanistan rather than to build some giant statues of himself that are just going to serve as pretty little monuments for tourist to gawk at. They still shouldn't have destroyed them though--just take the money.

  • the dicission had been taken not by suprime court but by ISI who want and would destroy afghanistan and afghanistanis .. this taliban (pashutuns ) never fought for afghanistan and islam or afghanistan ppl but they abuse islam and did for in favour of pakistan and for pakistan national interrest of pakistan
