--There's quite a bit here, so take the time to read it all!--

This is it folks, the long awaited trailer for the Trigun movie, premiered at the Anime Expo 2009 Nightow/Nishimura panel. I was there, and I fangirled. Hard. You can hear me squealing and giggling.

Personally, I can't wait, and if it's dubbed I really hope that they get the cast back.

ALSO!!!!

Japanese Release Date: April 24, 2010

WORLD PREMIER DATE: Friday, April 2, 2010 at SakuraCon in Seattle, Washington, followed by a Q&A panel with director Satoshi Nishimura and animator Takahiro Yoshimatsu

I may not be going to the 5:00 PM showing with the Q&A panel, but they're showing it a few times over the course of the weekend and by God, I'm making ONE of those showings.

And before anyone asks, no, I will not be filming it and uploading it here. If you ask, you are automatically a dumbass and I will ignore you and remove the comment. Deal with it. If you're so anxious to see the movie, get your butt up to Seattle to see it yourself.

UPDATE:

I went to SakuraCon.

I saw the movie.

It is EPIC BEYOND EPIC.

You will all love it and if you don't, then something must be wrong with you.

That is all.

  • If a dubbed version of the movie is released I hope beyond all hope that Johnny Bosch reprises his role as Vash. I can't imagine anyone else doing Vash's voice.

  • @SonicDude87 It is my understand that JYB will be returning as the voice of Vash, but he is the only voice actor who will be returning from the show. Both Dorthy Fahn (Meryl) and Jeff Nimoy (Wolfwood) were unable to make things work with Funimation to reprise their roles, and from what I have heard Lea Thompson (Milly) has retired from anime. The Japanese cast all returned, though.

  • Is the American release going to be nation wide, or will it be a limited release? I really want to see an this movie, and I'm sick and tired of Ohio getting skipped over for the release of an anime movie!

  • @tsubasanomegami

Well at least Bosch is returning. I'll miss Wolfwood and the Insurance girls' voices but at least the Vash voice will be right. Hopefully Funimation will get VAs that sound close to the original VAs.

  • That broad who kept laughing is annoying

  • all i gotta say is that if Johnny Bosch doesn't get to be Vash then FUNimation Fail! Johnny is Vash

  • @Darnistehgreat So it's already premiered with English subtitles at AX... Damn, I knew I should have gone! (Though..I've already seen it, but I would like to know what's being said.)

Well, glad that it's getting a theatrical release, but will it be limited (to larger metro areas) or a full release? But whatever - if I can find a way to see it in theaters, I'm there.

  • @tsubasanomegami At Anime Expo 2010, FUNimation is presenting the North American premiere of the film with English subtitles on Saturday, July 3 at 4:00 pm in the Film Room. In honor of the premiere, producer Shigeru Kitayama will be in attendance.

FUNimation will release the film in theatres and on DVD in 2011.
