The idea behind the project is to collaborate online to record these covers.

Although some good friends of mine form the core of the project, the band won't necessarily be the same for every song. We will have guests from around the world participating, mostly on vocals though, at our discretion.

How does it work?

Each guy in the band records their parts (audio tracks and video) at home or at a local studio and sends them to me.

I then put the audio together and mix it. This has been a great exercise for me (mixing). I learn the concept behind the sound of my favorite albums and try a whole bunch of cool techniques attempting to replicate it closely.

I AB my mix with the original song but don't get too crazy about it. It's difficult to get the sound exactly right due to a number of variables. When I get it close enough I stop comparing the two and just get it to sound good (hopefully) from there.

When the final stereo audio track is done I take it to a video editing software and sync everyone's videos to it. After a bit of editing and level/color correction it's ready for YouTube. :)

╟►Video responses:

I'll gladly accept video replies as long as it relates to this one in one of two ways:

1) [Format] Your vid is a Split-Screen, full band type cover of any DT/LTE song.

2) [Song] It is related to "As I Am" in any type format (split-screen, single person, or whatever).

I won't accept any other videos unless I'm convinced it's an exceptional case, which I reserve the right to be the judge of. Thanks.

  • @iAmPesukone Your a fucking idiot. MP never ONCE composed any music. He just made up "drum beats" and didn't touch a fucking bit of the actually composition. JP and JR have been doing that forever. Also jack ass, ADToE was fucking awesome. Your a moron portnoy fanboy who doesn't know shit. HENCE THE GRAMMY NOMINATION! It was easily there most focused album in a decade. You want boring? Go listen to Systematic Chaos or Black Clouds! THOSE ALBUMS SUCKS! Also any MP song also blows! l

  • @gtrslinger At least Portnoy composed great music. A Dramatic Turn of Events was boring as hell for a DT album.

  • So SweeT .... \mxm/ ...Yeaaaarrrgggghhhhh

  • @zeroadn1 pretty much yes

  • is it normal get a boner at the solo?

  • really good cover yall.

  • First dt song I heard ever- excellent cover

  • @gtrslinger well, the two drummers are really really good, with different approaches. I really miss MP, though MM rocks ass too!

  • MP is the original face of DT. Period.

  • @gtrslinger: YOU MAD BRO?
