The Mak Inang dance and song is from North Sumatra, Indonesia but, considering the rhythm and the melody, most probably came long time ago from Arabian world. Used to be performed by Malay ethnic at the palace of sultan (raja). Nowadays it is performed at cheerful ceremonies such like as wedding parties and so on. Though the dance depicts a couple in love, but at this video it is a solo dance performed by Martozet on 10 January 2009 in Komlo, Hungary. Camera: Wida Irvany.

  • @MalaysMelayu Before the arrival of the first Sultan, Malacca was a simple fishing village inhabited by local Malays. Those humble fishing folks didn't invent this fine art, but instead was introduced to this when or after the arrival of Parameswara. This art was originated from Malay in Sumatra, not in Peninsula Malaysia.
