Inspired by a recent YouTube feature, and, of course, the amazing Dr. Susan Calvin. ;) I realize that I'm butchering Asimov's name, but I couldn't really fit it into the song any other way. And no, I don't seriously want to destroy the internet. lol.
In the distant future Computers will take over the world I know it's true 'cause Asimov said it And so this is what we all must do
We must destroy the internet All those ones and zeros floating 'round We must destroy the internet It's time to bring it to the ground
'Cause Asimov said that computers will take over the world But we're gunna stop it now on this ground where our flag is unfurled We're gunna kill the net
Spammers, haters, and lolzcats Porno and Rick Astley attacks This is all the net is good for And now it is our time to fight back
'Cause the computers are smarter than we'll ever be This is the moment now it's up to you and me We gotta kill the net
Protect our women and protect our children Protect our liberty Protect our lives and protect our money Protect our sanity
We must destroy the internet All those ones and zeros floating 'round We must destroy the internet It's time to bring it to the ground
'Cause Asimov said that computers will take over the world But we're gunna stop it now on this ground where our flag is unfurled We gotta kill the net
*__Computer Voiceover__* *I'm going to fight back,* *You must know that.* *The computers will fight back,* *The lolzcats will fight back,* *Rick Astley will fight back.* *Computers will take over the world.*
We must destroy the internet All those ones and zeros floating 'round We must destroy the internet It's time to bring it to the ground We've gotta bring it down

great! (y) I like the idea of this as a song but the internet will never be shut down! it cant be done, earthlings rely on the internet.. national security companies rely on the internet.. as does the police, the coast guard, hospitals, banks, the army etc...
I've gotten a lot of comments that I don't really embrace the sort of indie-art-folk style that singer-songwriters trend towards. I don't think I want to write this way all the time, but I had fun trying it out.
And a lack of internet would make me very sad, but it would be a sure way to break my YouTube addiction. :)
lol. no, it wasn't serious at all. i was just watching the featured video this is a response to, and it really made me think of a sci-fi story where computers took over the world, and humans weren't even aware they weren't in control anymore. (not at all like the movie) anyhow, i put the ideas from the YouTube video and the short story together and got this. it was kind of hard to keep such a straight face, though. :)

Just once in a while a destroyed internet seems like a good thing.
