Govt will NOT hand over suspects to ICC

The coalition government has made a complete U-turn from government over the trial of post election violence suspects. Prime Minister Raila Odinga declared earlier on Wednesday that the government would NOT hand over the suspects to the International Criminal Court. The Prime Minister told Parliament that Kenya was well capable of trying the perpetrators of the violence in Kenya. But he says public officials implicated in the crimes will have to quit the government. NTVs Dennis Onsarigo reports on this startling twist of events.

Raila is playing politcal games with his people since the Luos were slaughtered like goats in Nrb, Kisumu and Naivasha! People who are celebrating the failure by our Gov't to hand over the killer or killers to Ocampo are guilty of laughing at their own fellow citizens who died gruesome deaths...its something we shouldn't be gloating here about! Unless one supported the killing why would they be happy that Raila says he will not hand over the PEV? Unless one was directly involved in the actual killings in Naivasha or Eldoret why would they be so excited that Kenya refused to hand over the culprits?
