I could continue talking about this with you but I realize this is going nowhere....you are clearly very closed minded on this and I feel very strongly that you are misguided in your beliefs. Of course you obviously think I am misguided but then again I am the one who is acting through love that I have learned through the bible and faith in Jesus. The difference between us is that I want to help people help themselves so that they can make it on their own without becoming dependent on the government. I also do not want to have the government steal from achievers through over-taxation to give to non-achievers.

@madaboutpolitics I want the government to stay out of it. The government has no business redistributing wealth. It is unconstitutional and it is stupid. It doesn't work. I can give a person who is broke a million dollars and what do you think will happen in most cases? They will blow it all, because they have never learned how to manage money. If I give them just enough to live another few days, what good have I done? If you want to solve the world's problems.....

But you must also give them permission to fail and to reap the consequences of failure. Otherwise they will learn nothing. YOU believe government solves problems. Your God is government. @RachelReeder Jesus never demanded that anyone STEAL from their neighbor to give to the poor. Jesus never demanded that governments redistribute wealth to help the poor. Jesus recommended that each and every one of us search our hearts and give out of our own convictions. Ma'am, if you give away everything you have there will still be starving people. If every Billionaire gives away everything they have, there will still be starving people. Then what, smarty pants?

@RachelReeder Well then Miss Reader, perhaps you should remove the plank from your own eye before attempting to remove the speck from your neighbor's eye. I think I have established through my actions that I indeed love my neighbor. If you are so passionate about your so-called "Social Justice" then sell everything you have and give it ALL to the poor like Jesus asked one rich man to do. When you've done that, then come back and talk to me.

I have nothing to be ashamed of. I actually do study the bible and sure you can do whatever you want in theory with YOUR money but it does not matter if you cannot love your neighbor or your enemy. It is impossible to love someone and allow them to suffer. If you believe you can allow someone to suffer because it is not 'your problem, it is MY money' then that is greed and that is a sin. Maybe you should check up on 1 Corinthians 13 and learn a little bit about love.
