@rockisbetter Although I have the ability to delete ignorant comments, I prefer to leave them up just to have others be aware of how easily people can reveal their lack of knowledge and make prejudicial comments. Many of these women report that the redundant labia minora causes splattering or disruption of the urinary stream. If you urinate more than one time a day or if you are prone to prominent vaginal secretions, it may be difficult to shower multiple times during a day.

These women generally do not do these procedures on a whim. Most proceed after a prolonged and thorough review of the risks, alternatives, and benefits.

If the minora gets so big it causes pain during sex or day to day activity I can understand a reduction. but this shit where girls are going in and getting themselves cut up just because they want to achieve some preconcieved notion of normal is terrible. @Castalis011 It is fantastic that you have a strong sense of self and you judge yourself to be normal. However, you look had to look at others to compare. However, others do the same and DON"T feel normal. Sexual education is more available now than it ever was before. Of course differences exist and that is true with the size of noses but that doesn't prevent people from wanting to have a smaller nose.

@Castalis011 There are two distinct indications you are discussing: medical & aesthetic. Judging another individual's beauty standards is tricky. While the medical reasons may be obvious, the aesthetic may not. I perform breast reductions on some women whereas I perform breast augmentations on others. These accepted surgeries are carried out on sexual organs also with risks including sensitivity loss, etc. I just think society has a stigma or taboo with the female genitalia.
