Phish
October 20, 1998
Sessions at West 54th, New York, NY

Sleep#, Frankie Says, Ghost, Roggae, Guyute, Wading in the Velvet Sea, Driver#, Albuquerque*, Birds of a Feather, Piper, Taste**

Played for "Sessions at West 54th," a PBS series hosted by David Byrne (of Talking Heads). "Birds," "Ghost," and "Taste" were broadcast January 9, 1999 on the program, in addition to interviews with the band about fan taping and the Halloween musical costumes. #Acoustic. *Played (acoustic) while tapes were being changed; was not taped. **Quasi-encore: Phish had finished their written setlist (though skipping "The Moma Dance," which was on the list given to the cameramen) and had some time left ("Ghost" was only 10 minutes long). After a flood of audience requests (including many for Byrne to sit in), Trey said, "Okay, let's just play Taste," at Page's suggestion.

  • I fucking love Phish.

  • True fishman is a metronome, but I don't know if there's any one most important part of a band you know?

  • Fishman rules

  • where is this show from????

  • fishman is tripping balls in this lol

  • I love this band!

  • cool! I've had this audio for ever!

  • Nice!

  • Anyone know why they no longer play the intro like this anymore? Trey doesn't throw the loops anymore in the intro it seems POST HIATUS.

  • I probably just have a baised toward guitar/songwriters, I think they are the key reasons for many bands success. Not saying Phish is nothing without Trey just that if I had to choose, the guy that writes the licks/riffs/songs/lyrics is probably more important. But believe me I am a true fan - went to 7 concerts this summer, probably wouldve only gone to 1 if it was only Trey.

  • @MrEaglez21 Im confused what you disagree with. Not to bash but how can you say you are a true Phish fan if you don't equally love Mike, Page, and Jon? That's like saying "I love Zep, but they're nothing without Page" or "I love the Stones but they ain't shit without Mick" - both of those statements are false btw.
