The Brett argument holds no water...first off, the pine tar was too high on his bat, not in an excessive quantity, and second, that's the only time he used pine tar on a bat, and the one homer run he hit with it was struck from the record books, Remember Perry also doctored balls.

And people say steroids don't help you hit home runs, but another 50-100 feet on your hits means the difference between a warning track hit, and a home run.

George Brett used too much pine tar on his bat and got caught in dramatic fashion; he's in the Hall of Fame.
Gaylord Perry threw illegal spitballs; he's in the Hall of Fame.
Whitey Ford had his balls doctored; he's in the Hall of Fame.
Those are examples of cheaters in the Hall of Fame...so if we're blacklisting PED users from the Hall of Fame for "cheating", then why haven't Brett, Perry, and Ford been removed from Cooperstown?

why shouldnt he be in the hall of fame? because he did roids? that was the culture back then plain and simple...you still have to be awesome to hit as many homeruns that he did..same with bonds they should be in the hall of fame ..because they were in the steroids era.
