Kevin James, of King of Queens and Hitch fame, plays your typical "every man" character in this movie. Paul Blart is really a guy whose dream job (New Jersey state trooper) is just out of his grasp, but who's creating the best he can out with the job he has - protection guard at the local mall. He lives with his mother and daughter and dreams of finding that one person who can love and appreciate him for himself. The fateful time arrives for Paul to prove just what he's created of when a group of truly bad folks, disguised as Santa's Helpers, carry control with the mall just before closing time on Black Friday, the biggest shopping day with the year. They chase all the customers out at gunpoint, lock the doors, and carry hostages in the bank branch located in the mall, such as the object of Paul's affection - Amy - a kiosk worker in the mall. Their strategy - steal the around $30 million in sales receipts about the credit card machines in the mall's shops. They've got just one problem - Paul Blart. What follows is really a hilarious game of cat and mouse between these gun-toting, skateboard and trick bike riding thugs and Paul, an overweight protection guard on a Segway scooter. You will find quite a few unexpected plot twists and just when you think Paul's had it, he surprises you and the bad guys yet again with his quick wittedness and courage.
