This is a very short video that I shoot just to see if the laser of an old CD burner that I still have is an infrared one. At this first look it seems ok for my multitouch applications as I cannot see it with my eyes but only with the IR-enabled webcam that I used for shooting this video. I don't know its frequency, it should be around 780 nm.

  • I have pulled apart 2 DVD-RW drives and 1 CD-R drive.

    All 3 IR LASER diode/modules have had 10 pins.

    I know they still work, I handeled with care.

    all is not lost because I salvaged 2 H-I red lasers

    NEED HELP finding schematic for IR LASERS...

    I desoldered one, and it has 10 pins =S.
