Thanks for this message too!! Again, it's nice to hear a positive and encouraging message.. And with the loops I've been thrown into, in this past year (un-employment)... I have to be careful to not just become a victim... your words remind me..that I am responsible for how I deal with my reality!! Thanks!! :-)

Self destructive behavior vs seeking help directly is not simply a matter of people being too lazy to get help. Self-hating makes it hard to cope with negative experiences. Ruining one's self pleasurably makes more sense to them than having to live with the pain.
Psychiatric help is expensive, and hard to find when you're not insured.
I think it's good that you want to motivate people, but I don't think people with emotional disorders need to be criticized.
