  • This is a gd vid, I really like the 142s!

  • well, i think each car has one engine/gearbox each. the gearbox is supposed to change at a preset speed (lets say 35 mph). but each speed sensor reads slightly differently. one might read 35 mph the other is only reading 33 mph. that would cause the difference synch

  • 142,S are automatically geared and do run in sink its the exhaust note that throws it out and the tap tap you can here is a flat on the rear wheel set.

142,S lots there cumins engines and geared boxes in the late 80,s for the LH models they carry now.

  • How many engines on each car? It seems that the transmission sets are operated separately, not synchronously as for most DMU types. Maybe one knob for one single gearbox!

  • Fantastic stuff, 5*! Nice wheelflat on this 142!

  • I like the way these trains sound Irregular especially when up to speed. Some good 142 therash can be found between Patricorft and Newton-Le-Willows especailly over the moss and sheer bounciness too. Som,etimes each unit changes gear seprately too. Beats a 15X train anyday!
