Clips from free stock footage, Excalibur (1981 version) and First Knight. I wanted to get clips of a viking ship sailing off on fire, but couldn't find any.

Lyrics:

Steel on steel
Break the blade that called him to his rest
And cast it to the deep
Light the pyre
Name the one whose shield is on his chest
And leave him to his sleep

The measure of a man
Stands or falls with what he leaves behind
Gather on the sand
Let your voices carry to the sky
Rise in light
Let the gods look down on this and wonder

Raise the ring
Cast the broken circle to the waves
And give the sea her due
Push the prow
Let him lead the final charge again
Where all will follow soon

The measure of a man
Stands or falls with what he leaves behind
Gather on the sand
Let your voices carry to the sky
Rise in light
Let the gods look down on this and wonder.

  • every time i listen to this, i feel like something in me awakens and some kind of connections forms with all life, and all nature, sounds weird i know, but this song... i dont know how to explain it other than that. It is the best one.

  • I've loved this song for a long time; thanks so much for putting it up!

I recently read Le Morte D'Arthur for class, and the video is very poignant with that background in mind...

  • @LilyPotterSnape Didn't Calburn come up from the lake and wasn't Excalibur pulled from the stone?

  • @LilyPotterSnape thanks for telling me☺

  • @cascada26 That's Viviane, The Lady of The Lake, he was returning to sea. It was foretold that after it's duty was done or Arthur lie dead Excalibur be returned to its rightful place in the sea(where it came from.)

  • Wow amazing song. It was so sad and peaceful. I sang along and found myself crying a bit.

  • Love this song.
