Long before the Oxo family became famous on UK television screens, a lady named Katie always had a cube or two handy of this well-known product, as demonstrated in this compilation of vintage adverts.

Special thanks to Mark Roberts for the source footage.

  • Mary Holland (Ciapessoni) is my 108 year old grandmother's niece and lives in Spain, she is on holiday in Brixham, south Devon until 1st Feb 2011 with her two sisters just along the road from us...We visited them today.....

  • Mary Holland also appoeared in Electrolux adverts for their 502 Upright cleaner and their 355 cylinder cleaner. I met Mary Holland a few years ago, she is a very nice lady.

  • Katie is played by Mary Holland, who in real life was married to BBC director Paul Ciappessoni. When she did her first 'proper' acting job in an early episode of Doomwatch (alas, no longer exists), the papers couldn't help but dig up the OXO connection. Especially The Guardian. Shows the problems of a long association with a brand. Thanks for the upload.

  • Wonderful....just like women used to be and still should be.....all pinnies, laquered beehives, giggles, blushes and clit.

  • how wonderful

  • 4:55

That's what happens when you give Elvis Costello responsibility

  • This has made me really hungry
