Who's Afraid of an Open Debate? The Truth About the Commission on Presidential Debates

The Commission on Presidential Debates is a private corporation headed by the former chairmen of the Republican and Democratic parties. The CPD is a duopoly which allows the major party candidates to draft secret agreements about debate arrangements including moderators, debate format and even participants. The result is a travesty riddled with sterile, non-contentious arguments which consistently exclude alternative voices that Americans want to hear.

It's too bad the producers of this video didn't put the real solution at the end. That is promoting a debate outside the two major parties and getting people to watch. Free and Equal is doing exactly that on Oct. 23rd. Virgil Goode, Gary Johnson, Rocky Anderson and Jill Stein have all accepted the invitation to come. Obama and Romney were invited as well but have not accepted the invitation. The debate will air on Free and Equals website at 8:00pm.

I'd like to know who did this video. The Constitution Party did not plan an official protest during the debates so I don't know where they are getting their misleading information from. Also would like to know why Virgil Goode was not listed at the end of this video.

It does not say specifically that the Constitution Party is officially planning a protest, contrarily it says that protests will be occurring at debates sites, with a myriad of third party and independent participation. No mention of an "official" protest whatsoever, by the Constitution Party or anyone else. Virgil Goode is not on the video because he does not have enough ballot access to have a theoretical chance of winning the electoral college. Only four do: Obama, Romney, Stein, Johnson
