The first person I hypnotized is a friend called Issac. I hypnotized him a few minutes earlier so re-inducing him into a trance was easy.

The second person is called Neil. I had never hypnotized him before. This was the full instant induction. There was no pre-talk. I was happily surprised when he responded so well to the suggestion.

He asked me to help him with confidence in his abilities so I anchored the feeling of pride and confidence to snapping his fingers.

  • how to do this??? what's the best Dvd? out there??

  • very nice, makes you wonder why hypnotherapists need several session to effect the same change haha

  • Well, I usually never try to start with an Instant Induction because if it fails the rest of what you try to do will most likely fail. I usually start with a rapid induction like the hand to face. Also try the Elman Induction, it's one of the best and it has the tests built in.

  • without doing a suggestability test such as attempting to lock there hands together, how can you tell that they are suggestable enough?

If you try a suggestibility test and it "fails", you look like a bit of an idiot, same goes for trying an instant induction and it failing.

I know building rapport is an important step to making it a successful induction, but what is the best way to tell if someone is a good candidate for an instant induction? (i know, there probably is no "best way")

  • Well, this technique won't work on everyone. They have to be suggestible enough. A lot of things are happening here; building of rapport, and his expectation for example. You just have to make sure the subject is open enough to suggestion for the instant induction to work. I hope that helps.
