  • Peanuts , Wild Bill, all of these guys were the greatest jazz men of their era. But isn't that Ralph Sutton on piano?

  • Can Peanuts blow that stick or what? Mercy!!!!!!

  • Peanuts is very good at this kind of music but I prefer Pete Fountain. Don't get me wrong, all of these guys are great in their own right. I love playing along with these songs on my clarinet.

  • I love this guy. He is great without comparison to any one. I am going to style my playing after Peanuts - and I love the name. I certainly wish there were some folks near me who loved to play this music.

  • 'Peanuts' was a dear friend who I had the honour of playing drums behind on many tours and engagements over many years. What you cannot see on this clip is what a generous and kind man he always was.I maintain that this warmth came through in his beautiful tone,as lovely as any in the history of jazz. That said,he was the first to admit, there will only ever be one all consuming Clarinet giant in the history of jazz music and his name was Benny Goodman.

  • Perish the thought...much better than Goodman!

  • Personally i think that they are all as good as each other, it depends on the listener. When i'm listening to Benny, i love Benny, when i'm listening to joe, i love joe, etc etc. I dont mean to offend anyone but i dont understand why people who can do things we will never be able to do need to be compared. They are all fantastic as far as i am concerned. :)

  • Is he related to Joe Hucko then? cos you said Joe is your uncle too in the other video? Lucky you, you must have been to some excellent family parties! ;)

  • That is my Uncle Mickey... He was an awesome musician, but an even better UNCLE!!! He inspired me.... Go Uncle Mickey, Go!!!!!!

  • good recording!
