Occupy Oakland Raid: Police Just "Following Orders"

Abby Martin of Media Roots went out to cover the immediate aftermath of the brutal police raid of Occupy Oakland at 6:20 am on October 25, 2011.

500+ Oakland PD used tear gas, rubber bullets and completely leveled two encampments of peaceful protestors practicing civil disobedience. 90+ protestors were then arrested.

Just because they wanna protect their own personal interest,some individuals will even misuse their authority and power. @brst2flm Both sides of the fence aren't doing what they're suppose to be doing. There are protesters vandalizing, and there are cops entirely beating peaceful protesters. The point is, the police should be doing the right thing. Not breaking the law because a few civilians out of the many did. They're wearing the badge. Not a few teenagers with spray paint. So if you stand by their brutality because of a few teenagers, man, I bet your childhood was awesome. Grow up and see what's going on.

@GroddGuerrilla this is my point. they want to point the corruption finger at the wrong people. although they are blaming republicans. what's the difference between big unions and big corps.? unions give billions to dems. you can say they represnt the people in the union but i disagree. i am in a union and i'm pretty tired of seeing my union prez in all these different pics with Obama and other reps. i know for a fact that our union doesn't speak for at least half of it's people.
