Hung out to dry, Cartwright Hall, Lister Park, Bradford. 5m high public sculpture in stainless steel, with 28,000 stainless steel nails hammered by hand into the steel panel. The first of a series of sense sculptures by Artist and Sculptor Marcus Levine, drawing on the ability of nails to be used as creative Braille. Theses sculptures are designed to be touched and there is a growing following of visually impaired lovers of sculpture. They are very tactile and draw young and old towards them, in an irresistible need to run your hands over the nails. Other sculptures in this series include Copper clout nail sculpture and Oak sense sculpture first study in Oak.
