This was Texas State Hospital and then Boys home. It is a complex consisting of several buildings, thus the film being 9:30minutes. It was closed down due to high number of deaths and suicides occurring here and then the increase of patients lead this facility to be shut for modern institutions. Now this lay crumbling away amongst vegetative over growth. Some say this is haunted and you can hear conversations amongst those who have lost there lives here. As we walked through this, all we heard where our own conversations echoing the walls. Complete for historical note.

  • Happy Halloween!!

  • You have to be aware that the juvenile is always on defensive and always watching the surrounding areas. I have heard the neighbor across the street has threatened others with weapons like guns.

  • Was that a dead cow at the end?

  • Some one dropped off their dead dog, wrapped in a bath towel.

  • Alot of things are not there any more that where there 2 years ago. This place had porcelain white bath tubs and sinks and toilets, some rooms where white porcelain tiles, non of this is there any more

  • I liked your video, it shows different places then most videos. How did you find out about the history to this place?Did you find papers or files? Oh,yea is there another way to get there, like a back way?

  • This building has been abandoned for decades. I can imagine original material that used to be there. Papers i did find was a guide to survive Nuclear Attack and a bill from the Von Ormy Volunteer Fire Department. It looked like there was a fire in one room atop many papers someone burned,

  • @localvic The only true thing here is the Asbestos... probably.

  • I live around the area, I highly recommend you stay away from that area. It's private property, and you may very well get arrested, or even shot on sight, there's a juvenile center right there.

  • owwww ur finger!!!! D:

  • @Segmentsofreality -- Juvenile watches this area like crazy, there is Asbestos in the building and the neighbor is trigger happy. True Story.

  • *gives you a bandaid*

  • I liked te video and the significance that is trying to be conveyed. We in America, are a throw away society. We need to preserve the past. People forget or don't know how it was in the past, only if they come across it or are truely inerested.Tese old building hold memories and should be refurbished and mad into museums so folks can learn about the was life was and not take for granted what life is like now. TY again. I enjoyed this and will watch the others.
