  • I'm trying to find a good technique for making a movie screen (like the one you see off in another room in PORTAL). I may find out elsewhere soon, but do you know a way I can make it project a picture? env_projectedtexture seems to me like it just projects light with some variation.

  • Right, the projected textures are really just a flashlight. You'll have to try something else.

  • how do you parent the light to the rope, mine isnt working

  • You can enable multiple env_projtex's at once, through dll hacks, which is what Fakefactory did for his Cinematic Mod if i remember correctly.

    Unless you can get access to the games code, you can't enable multiple env_projectedtextures at once, unless your in Garry's Mod.

  • that doesnt make dynamic shadows, and gives a huge compile time

  • so how EXACTLY did you do it? Whenever i place and env_projectedtexture in my level, enable shadows and so on it doesnt show up in game... maybe because its l4d? or did you add anything else?

  • i just um use toggle texture tool and select the blocks you wanna make a shadowwith and change light map scale to 1

  • And how do i make the light wider?? i can only get a small cross and a circle when i use it on the same model as onequarterlife uses, plz halp?
