  • I'd love to see this, but even this early in its run it's already disappeared from all of the theaters around me. It's obviously not lighting the American box office on fire.

  • Simon Mayo is a fuckin idiot

  • Regarding the use of Gina Carano and her MMA background, I am reminded of two other stories. The first is Serenity by Joss Whedon in which Summer Glau did her own fight scenes. The second story was Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, also featuring Glau, in which part of her portrayal of a terminator required her to fight as well. Her performance was much more than that and she was great (e.g.season 2, episode 4). Glau is a great actress and I wonder if Carano can become one as well.

  • Aaaarrrrg, it always drives me crazy, when he pronounces the French "femme" wrong!

    X-D

  • @kermodeandmayo - volume?!

  • I heard Gina Carano wants to be a female Bond. The main thing with the film I think is that there was not enough action. I know moviesm should have substance over style, but when the lead is a trained MMA fighter you should go for the action. I would be mad if I went to see a Jackie Chan film and he hardly did any fighting, he's not exactly put in for his serious acting ability.

  • @Disloy Hey, I saw it and thought it was arty crap, very slow pace and Kermode says the opposote in answer to critics having a pop, he is so wrong on this one, it was just bollox

  • I have just watched Haywire and it is possibly one of the worst films of all time. I am actually shocked how bad that was and it also had one of the most surreal scenes of all time! It really has to be seen to be believed.

  • I thought Haywire was a decent watch. Pretty predictable plots and narrative, felt like i was watchin a bourne film replaced with a woman protagonist. Saying that the cinematography was rather sophisticated and i enjoyed the gritty realism of the fight sequences i wasnt aware that Gina Carano was debuting in cinema with this performance and i applaud her efforts. probably give it 3/5, nothing new or very stimulating but it parodied the conventions of spy films (for me) in a more enjoyable way

  • did he see the same movie as me, it was rubbish
